Yard Waste Container available starting May 9th

Article Date

Ham Lake residents will be able to dispose of yard waste at the City’s Drop-off Recycling Center starting Friday, May 9th. The dumpster will be located on the north side of the City Hall parking lot. Dumpster is for Residential use only!

Material that can be placed in the dumpster includes: garden waste, grass clippings, leaves, pine cones, needles, soft-bodied green plants, weeds, sod (residential quantities), evergreen boughs, shrub trimmings, acorns, and branches up to 1” in diameter. No brush. All materials must be debagged and placed loose into the dumpster. Please unload your yard waste and take your bags or containers home. All material must be placed inside of the dumpster.

Use of the dumpster is monitored 24/7. Disposal of yard waste in a responsible manner will allow this recycling option to continue to be available within the City at no cost to residents. Please do not leave any waste behind if the dumpster is full; doing so could eliminate this convenience.

Yard waste can also be disposed of at the Anoka County Compost locations. The Bunker Hills location at 13285 Hanson Blvd NW in Coon Rapids is 7 miles from City Hall and the Rice Creek location at 7701 Main Street in Lino Lakes is 14 miles from City Hall.

Please utilize these sites if the yard waste dumpster at City Hall is full.

There is no charge to dispose of up to 4 cubic yards (5 to 8 yard waste bags) of waste at the compost sites.

If you have any questions related to yard waste disposal, please contact the Recycling Coordinator at 763-434-9555.
