Bake Sale August 28 & 29, 2024
The senior center will be holding a bake sale on Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Collection of Used Cell Phones
NCOA (National Council on Aging) has developed a way to make the most of used cell phones. The Senior Center collects used cell phones as an easy fundraiser and at the same time helps the environment by keeping cell phones out of our nation’s landfills. We encourage everyone in the community to collect used cell phones and drop them off at the Senior Center. All cell phones will be ‘flashed’ to wipe out any previous information stored. This will allow for reprogramming/refurbishing for use in countries with less advanced cellular technology than the U.S., or the cell phones will be recycled for their precious metals. We are collecting only cell phones, not the cellular parts, such as chargers and batteries. This will be an on-going fundraiser. Even if you do not have a cell phone yourself, please inform family members, friends, and neighbors to drop-off their used cell phones. If you know of a business, church, or office that would be willing to have a drop box, please contact the Senior Center at 763- 434-0455.
Plant, Bake, Book and Puzzle Sale
The Plant, Bake, Book and Puzzle Sale is held twice a year. A spaghetti dinner will also take place at the senior center in the fall. Usually held on the 3rd Friday in September. The Senior Center collects donated knick-knacks, kitchen items, clothing, jewelry, bedding, holiday items, etc., the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before the sale. All proceeds benefit the Senior Center.
Casino Runs
The senior center mini-bus transports those interested in gambling to the various casinos in Minnesota. Contact the Senior Center at 763-434-0455 for cost.
