Anoka County Loan Programs Available for Home Rehab, Well-Septic Improvements
Anoka County offers zero-interest home rehabilitation loan programs to income-qualified residents and also administers a state-funded well/septic low-interest loan program for landowners that aims to improve water quality.
Visit anokacountymn.gov/2301/Rehabilitation-Loan-Program for information on the home rehabilitation program and to apply. This program is to address health and safety concerns in homes and does not cover cosmetic updates or deferred maintenance. Due to the high volume of loan applications, it is taking longer to process pre-applications.
Visit anokacountymn.gov/2023/Well-Septic-Loans for information on the well/septic loan program and to apply. Funding is only allocated to approved projects that fix water quality issues. The borrowed funds are paid back with interest via property tax assessment and will increase property tax payments.
To be eligible, property owners must be current on their mortgages and property taxes; and they must own the property where the repair or replacement will be installed. Reverse mortgages do not qualify for the loan program. Use the drop box at the Anoka County Government Center or the Blaine Human Service Center for larger packets.
Anoka County employees are available to help via email, phone and virtual visits for both the home loan and well/septic programs.
Face-to-face visits are by appointment only.
Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
